ABOUT SHIRLEY LEE TERMOLEN, MD, SC
I grew up in a small town in Ohio where my father was one of the few Internal Medicine physicians in the area. Growing up in this environment, with my mother working as a nurse at my father's office, inspired me to become a doctor. My younger brother also followed in my father's footsteps and is currently a Gastroenterology attending at Northwestern Hospital.
Before starting my Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern, I married my husband who I met at Dartmouth College. He is an attorney and we currently live in Evanston with our 3 children -- Dylan, a junior at Vanderbilt University, Anna, a freshman at Dartmouth College, and Sydney, a sophomore at ETHS.
My hobbies include playing on a ladies tennis team, playing golf with my family and friends, running and interval training, and walking my dog Cooper. I ran my first marathon at age 45 in under four hours, so my next challenge is to motivate myself to run another one at age 50. Goals for 2020 are read more, cook more, travel more and relax more!
